Anchored in the development of IEEE 2890-2025 Recommended Practice for Provenance of Indigenous Peoples’ Data, the first international standard addressing the provenance and stewardship of Indigenous Peoples’ data, the conversation will explore how emerging frameworks can strengthen Indigenous authority, accountability, and ethical collaboration in data systems. Featuring perspectives from Indigenous data leaders and partners including the U.S. Census Bureau, the symposium highlights the growing role of standards and governance innovations in supporting Indigenous self-determination in the data age.</p>
