Drake Rushford

Drake Rushford is a PhD candidate in economics at the University of Arizona. They completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Manitoba and earned a master’s degree in economics from the University of Victoria. Their research focuses on Indigenous governance, state capacity, and public service provision, with particular emphasis on policing institutions and the historical implementation of treaty obligations in Canada. Their work combines administrative data, historical records, and quasi-experimental methods to study how institutional design and capacity constraints shape economic and social outcomes in Indigenous communities.
